This picture breaks my heart everytime it appears in my dash. It’s a fear tactic, alright but—

The first one in the left corner: It’s a first communion rosary, and it’s not cheap.

The black one in the first line: That’s a widow rosary and it’s old.

The white one in the second line: is a commemoration rosary. It has a miniature picture in the round part. I haven’t seen that since the 70′s.

In the third line, multicolor one: It’s an Anima mundi, I have only seen those in the hands of Rosary ministery’s old ladies. The oldest ones are from the 80′s after Juan Pablo II came to Mexico for the first time. It’s one of the old ones, I know because the crucifixes are different.

The third one on the fourth line: Red and gold. The style is old, the metal is dark, that’s a 50′s rosary, probably a quinceañera one (or it’s maybe older, from the 40′s when the brides carried red roses with their offerings).

The fifth one on the fourth line: It’s a quinceañera rosary with Ignatius’s tear. The style is old and in my part of Mexico is orphan girls who used it. At least it was when I was young.

The third one of the fifth line: the blue one with the anchor. That one I have only seen in Veracruz and it doesn’t look new.

The fifth one on the fifth line: That’s a 90′s wedding rosary. Black and white patterns were popular on that date.

The fourth one on the last line: That’s a first communion rosary from the 30′s. It’s delicate and most probably silver.

The rest wrench my heart too, the humble everyday rosaries with wooden beads and knots. Those are cheap and bear the wear and tear of their user handling. But those I described are much more.

Those are mother’s rosaries.

Those are not just rosaries. Those are mementos, that’s the proof of their families stories. They are taking from them the only portable things they can carry to feel the connection to their families.

It’s not a fear tactic. Call it like by its name.

It’s dehumanization.

Nearly half of all youth who end up in custody across Canada are Indigenous, a statistic that a Manitoba activist says shows unacceptable and systemic racism.
Data released by Statistics Canada shows Aboriginal youth made up 46 per cent of admissions to correctional services in 2016-17 while making up only eight per cent of the youth population.
“It’s not actually surprising to me to hear those numbers,” said Michael Redhead Champagne.
“As a member of the Indigenous community, with First Nation, Métis and Inuit people around me, I see the overrepresentation of Indigenous people going into the justice system,” he said.
Champagne founded Aboriginal Youth Opportunities in Winnipeg’s North End neighbourhood in 2010 to support Indigenous youth. Working with kids in the inner city area, he has seen how “Indigenous people often get the short end of the stick.”
“I see Indigenous and non-Indigenous people literally doing the exact same crime and not experiencing the same amount of jail time, probation, et cetera,” he said.

i dont think we should be blaming children for falling prey to games intentionally designed to be addictive.

there is this predatory trend in game design where they lure kids into downloading free games and let them play the game for a couple of hours before they’re convinced (or forced, if they want to continue) to cough up their parents’ credit cards. the games in question are usually designed to get you really close to winning (or thinking that you’re close), but it’s yanked away immediately and the only way to get close again is to try over and over again, a process that usually results in you spending money. (“energy refills,” more powerful items, or even cosmetics via bandwagon effect)

in other words, the video game industry is currently set up like a fucking carnival game, only this time the carnival follows you around. i dont think coining a “gaming disorder” will help anyone until we start holding the clowns in charge responsible.

I’m not saying that you can’t like something and be critical of it at the same time, but I really don’t think that’s possible with this one because of the overwhelmingly awful things in this game.

It’s a David Cage game. David Cage has a long history of being a creep and an awful writer. From putting racism and rape fantasies in every single one of his games to letting his team make a nude model of Ellen Page without her consent which she tried to sue them over, it’s a wonder how Sony let this game happen. Maybe they wanted to fuck the twink cop like the rest of the internet.

His response to allegations that Quantic Dream had leveled against them is “I’m not homophobic, I know Ellen Page, judge me by my work” which is ironic because as previously stated Ellen Page shouldn’t be touching him with a ten foot pole, and because “his work” is worse than that of a pretentious film student.

DBH is ham-fisted with allegories to various oppressions, and they’re all done tastelessly, have the subtlety of a brick and they’re practically meaningless. The humans talk about how androids steal their jobs, there’s a scene where androids have to stand at the back of a bus, there’s a cop who doesn’t like his android partner and has slogans and merch on his desk that look like they belong to the average Ben Garrison audience, there’s a scene where the androids spray paint holograms with slogans from MartinLutherKingQuotesDotCom, a white android talks down to a black android about slavery, and there’s even android concentration camps at the end of the game. Despite this, Cage said that his story “is really about androids.” He doesn’t want the game to be political unless he gets praised, making it somehow shocking and stale at the same time.

Oh yeah, there’s a scene where an android woman and a kid who was an android the whole time have to strip down in one of the concentration camps.

It’s a David Cage game.

The twink droid that everyone wants to fuck is a slave catcher. Throughout the entire game, he’s chasing after runaway slaves and doesn’t have a redemption arc until the game’s almost over.

Also he has the choice to kill the only lesbian couple in the game. If he doesn’t, they’re only talked about once and never seen again, so the choice barely matters.

It’s a David Cage game.
